Participation
We are all involved in our adventure. Everyone has a voice. We give our leaders a mandate to act fast and effectively, but expect them to listen and respect the views of everyone.
Solarcentury endeavours to operate an environment where everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions. However, as with all collections of people this is not always enough. So, every 6 months our Chief Executive oversees a comprehensive consultation with staff, based around an anonymous survey. The task is run in conjunction with the Walking Our Talk (WOT) team, comprised of volunteers from all areas of the company. The results are shared with the team and are taken very seriously. Any areas of poor performance are acted upon by the WOT team with the involvement and full support of the senior management.
In 2005 we added an extra section of 'free questions' to the consultation to encourage direct feedback. We have also introduced a mechanism to encourage anonymous feedback at any time throughout the year.
We continue to participate in a host of other activities from marching on the US embassy with the Climate Change Coalition to participating in energy forums and discussion groups and actively engaging the government and media.
