Sanyo Offices

Watford, Hertfordshire, UK

View of the Sanyo office with newly installed energy roof.

Watford's single largest office transaction in 2004 was the purchase of this highly prominent site for SANYO Europe, the European arm of the electronics giant. It is now the new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters for the multinational.

The £5.9 million move forms part of a business consolidation program to accommodate 134 employees from various business units under one roof.

The new four storey 2,500 sq m (approx 25,000 sq ft) bespoke office redevelopment features high-tech, environmentally friendly air conditioning units manufactured by SANYO.

The roof showcases SANYO's advanced solar panel technology that services power requirements for the entire building. Any excess capacity is then fed straight into the National Grid. The building won a BREEAM environmental award in 2005.
